I Know This May Sound Like a Joke, BUT I’M A STANFORD STUDENT???

Earlier this month, I applied for financial aid to get a certificate on an online Stanford course on International Women’s Health and Human Rights. I was asked to write a minimum 150 word essay on why I need financial aid and a minimum 150 word essay on how this course will help me in my career. The first question was extremely hard to answer. Like, how do I say I’m broke AF in 150 words?

“Im broke as fuck. Im broke as fuck. I’m broke as fuck. Im broke as fuck. Im broke as fuck. I’m broke as fuck. Im broke as fuck. Im broke as fuck. I’m broke as fuck. Im broke as fuck. Im broke as fuck. I’m broke as fuck. Im broke as fuck. Im broke as fuck. I’m broke as fuck. Im broke as fuck. Im broke as fuck. I’m broke as fuck.”?

But of course, I did not write that because I’m smoother than the cream cheese on yo bagel. I was absolutely thrilled to wake up to an email this morning that I have been granted financial aid to receive a certificate for completing the course (if I pass and do my long list of assignments, of course!)! Woohoo!

The second question was easy peasy. Since I know that deep down inside, whatever I can learn through this course and whatever this blog may do is not for me but it’s for all the women (and men, ya’ll!) who surround me and whomever this blog may reach. Because, let’s face it. Being born a woman in this world is already a struggle on it’s own. Just by watching the introductory video on the course, I realized how “first world” my feminism problems are (even though I am based in a third world country with trains breaking down every 10 minutes) and that there are just sooooo much more to learn and to fight for.

So guys and girls, please do wish me luck! I am so genuinely excited to start this course and I simply cannot wait to share the knowledge that I will be awarded with with all of you.

Much love and big hugs,

Bianca 💗

PS: I’m like really drunk right now. Cheers! 🍻
