Banana Leaf Plates: For the Eco-friendly and Lazy, Walwal Barkada

Aaaaaaah, nothing beats a good ol’ trip to the beaaach with your crew. And also, nothing beats the mess that the tornado (our wrecked selves) brings inside the beach house. When your barkada is just as lazy and perpetually wasted like mine, then I’ve got a really great, eco-friendly life hack for you to avoid washing dishes when you can’t even wash yourselves and your sins away: BANANA LEAVES!

Every time it’s time to hit the sun and sand, I always make sure to pass by the local wet market to get myself a whole lot of banana leaves for our meals, because let’s be real here, we don’t want to be washing no damn dishes. And we certainly don’t want to waste the limited water our planet has (we are not here to waste water, we are here to waste beer).

All you need to do is cut up these long, magical banana leaves into plates big enough to eat in and the rest is easy peasy. With banana leaves, you can have your meal and throw your bio-degradable Moana-ass plates in the trash! BAM! Magic. Done. Now, go party.

You can get banana leaves in any wet market, just follow the vegetables. Where I get mine, you get 2 big leaves for only PHP 15! That’s a total of PHP 150 for NOT. WASHING. PLATES. #SooooMuchWin!!!

And also, it looks pretty damn cute! (Spot my veggie burger!)
